Upgrading From a Lease

If you are on a lease (or previously had a lease) and want to upgrade to a Purchased License, MotiveWave will apply up to a maximum of 6 months' worth of lease payments (6 Monthly Lease payments, or two cycles of the 3-Month Auto-Renewing Lease, or one 6 Month Lease payment) that you paid towards an upgrade. These qualifying lease payments must have been made within the past 1 year. Lease payments can only be applied toward the same edition or a higher edition Purchased License.

This does not include any discounts, taxes, or currency conversions. You would only need to pay the remaining difference between the regular-priced Purchased License cost and your qualifying lease payments for the edition you leased, or a higher edition Purchased License.

Note: If you purchased your lease during a sale, that sale discount is not locked in as a discount on the Purchased License as it applies only to your lease.

If there's an active sale when you're ready to upgrade from your lease to the Purchased License, our Sales team can apply that current sale discount to the remaining difference between the regular-priced Purchased License cost and your qualifying lease payments.

To ensure a smooth process, the upgrade from a lease to a Purchased License must be manually created by our Sales team before you can complete the upgrade.

We recommend contacting our Sales team at sales@motivewave.com. They will calculate your exact upgrade cost, create the upgrade for you, and can also cancel any auto-renewing subscriptions on your lease (if you are on the Monthly or 3-Month Auto Renewing lease).

Upgrading From a Lower Edition Purchased License

If you have a lower edition Purchased License and wish to upgrade to a higher edition, MotiveWave will apply the cost you paid for your current lower edition (excluding any discounts, taxes, or currency conversions) towards the upgrade. You will only need to pay the remaining difference between the regular-priced higher edition Purchased License and the cost you paid for your lower edition Purchased License (again, not including any discounts, taxes, or currency conversions). This upgrade must occur within 1 year of your original Purchased License purchase and requires that you have active support and updates on your license at the time of upgrade. An upgrade does not include an additional year of support and updates.

Note: Any sale discount applied during your initial Purchased License purchase is not locked in for a higher edition upgrade.

If there's a sale when you decide to upgrade to a higher edition Purchased License, our Sales team can apply that current sale discount to the remaining difference between the regular-priced higher edition Purchased License and the cost you paid for your lower edition Purchased License (excluding discounts, taxes, or currency conversions).

For this type of upgrade, the process must also be manually created by our Sales team before you can proceed.

Additional Upgrade Rules

A previous lease or license payment can only be used once toward an upgrade. For example, if you upgrade from Standard Edition to Order Flow Edition and later upgrade to Professional Edition, only the Order Flow Edition payment will be applied toward the Professional Edition upgrade. Earlier payments (leases and license purchases) cannot be reused.
